Do you install site-finished wood flooring?
At this time, no. We do, however, install all types of pre-finished solid and engineered wood flooring, as well as laminates.
Are you a General Contractor looking for a subcontractor, or are looking for an installer for your customer?
Please note that we contract directly with the homeowner for all our work.
If you're hiring a General Contractor to oversee your project, you should be aware of what order the work should be performed in. Generally, floor preparation should be done right after demolition - that makes it easier for us to get the floor flat, which in turn means it will be easier for your contractor to level any cabinets they are installing. Then, after all the other tradesmen have finished, flooring is one of the last things to be installed.
What about projects out-of-town?
Occasionally, people ask if we do out-of-town projects like cabins or second homes. We do, but you should be aware that we will have to pass the added travel expense we incur on to you. However, if you can't find a local tradesman that you trust with your project, using us will take the worry out of the equation for you. We guarantee - in writing - that we will start and end your job when we say, and of course we guarantee a quality installation. While it might cost less initially to have a handyman in a small town do your project, any money you've saved will be lost if they don't complete the work on time or if the quality craftsmanship just isn't there.
Is an over the phone consultation accurate?
Sometimes. But more often, a realistic estimate is much more complex than just multiplying cost times square feet. Your project is unique, and we want to give you the most accurate estimate possible. We can only do this after we have been on-site, seen the space, and discussed different design options with you. The more complex your remodeling project, the less likely an over the phone consultation will encompass every aspect of the installation.
What happens at a consultation?
At a personal consultation in your home, we take the time to examine your space and listen to your ideas. We can give you detailed advice on materials, design and installation techniques, which can prevent expensive mistakes. Once we know exactly what you want, we can give you a detailed written estimate. You will also be pleasantly surprised at the substantial discount off retail prices for materials that we can pass on. Normal retail markups from competitors are usually around 40% or more. We offer all our Flooring materials at 8% over our wholesale cost!
What about those discount flooring contractors?
Their specialty is production installation, and the only way they can offer those prices is to cut corners by using cheap materials and taking shortcuts with preparation and installation. If you want a quick fix and aren't concerned about what the floor will look like in two years, a discount contractor may OK. But before you hire one of them, be sure to ask the questions on our Contractor Checklist...you might find out that they're more expensive than you thought!
What's different about an Arizona Home Floors installation?
Almost everyone has heard stories about delays, damage and messes caused by contractors - not to mention expensive little surprises that weren't mentioned in the estimate. But you won't hear any of these horror stories from our customers. Our experienced, courteous, English-speaking installers will arrive on time - if we say we'll be there at 8, you won't be wondering where we are at 9! We are careful around your furniture, belongings, children and pets. We complete the dust-free installation quickly, with minimal disruption to your home and without leaving a mess for you to clean up. And we guarantee our installations for as long as you own your home.
What is floor preparation and why is it so important?
Don't let an uneven sub floor ruin your plans! Bumps or dips in the subfloor can cause tile or wood to crack or come loose, and taking shortcuts with preparation can ruin your beautiful new floor. Included in our web site is more information about floor preparation. See how we create a smooth level surface so your floor will last a lifetime!
