  • AZ Ceramic Installers:  Learn why not all installers have the same skills, and why that is important to you.
  • AZ Carpet Installers:  Learn why choosing a carpet installer is a little like getting a haircut.  Equipment and knowledge makes a huge difference.

Flooring Contractors...who are they, and how can you know if you have found a reliable one?  Floor contractors can be an individual, or group of individuals who install one or more types of flooring.  This can range from carpet, sheet vinyl, hardwood, laminate, ceramic, and stone.  A flooring contractor who can install multiple types of flooring can be extremely helpful when you are planning a remodel of your home or business.  Rather than hire a separate floor contractor to install carpet, and another to install the ceramic, and yet another to install the hardwood, it makes sense to find one qualified and dedicated flooring contractor to install them all.  The main benefit behind this reasoning is superior quality control and scheduling.  Let's focus first on the quality control:  When multiple types of flooring are being installed by one contractor, the workers installing these floors know and understand the routine behind the job.  They are used to the methods, application, and timing of the group.  This allows them the best chance to be consisent in their work and what they are producing!  Scheduling becomes easier when everyone involved is on the same team.  It is a terrible experience for the homeowner when they have little to no idea of the timing of all the various contractors working at their home.  It is already bad enough trying to deal with the schedules of the painter, the plumber, the electrician, and others trying to perform their services within your home.  Adding separate tradesmen, which include a carpet installer, ceramic installer, wood installer, etc., into the schedule can really try the patience of anyone.

If you are a homeowner who is particular about the service they receive, then choosing a flooring contractor who has the proper credentials is important.  They should be licensed, bonded, and insured, and also have a long track record of sucessful and long lasting installations.  They should also conduct themselves professionally starting from the first moment of contact.  Promptness at returning phone calls, listening carefully, have great communication skills, starting the job as scheduled, and showing up on time will show if they are serious about their business.  It is also a great idea to contact some of their prior customers to hear of their experience.  Listen to your instincts too, because your feeling about someone can often be correct.
