Floor Grinding

I created this page and video to show how our floor grinding services are unique.  Our floor grinding equipment shown is not typical of most installer's, in fact, most have not invested in any of this equipment.  Here's a short video that will help you understand how floor grinding is done and why it's so important.  After you watch the floor grinding video, call me at 602-550-8818, and I'll be glad to answer your questions or set up an on-site visit to discuss how to prepare your subfloor.

Do you need floor grinding?  We are the experts!  We have very high quality floor grinding equipment specifically designed for working in your home, because it captures virtually all of the dust.  May times floor grinding becomes necessary to properly prepare the concrete foundation for new flooring.  Homeowners are often excited to install the flooring themselves, only to discover that the concrete subfloor is in very bad condition.  If this has happened to you, don't be discouraged!  Look at what we offer:

  • Virtually dust free floor grinding for cracked or heaved floors.
  • Virtually dust free thinset removal.
  • Virtually dust free removal of catings, adhesives, eqpoxies, drywall mud, sealer, and curing agents.
  • Virtually dust free means no gritty concrete dust in your home or in your lungs - and no mess for you to clean up.

Read on and find out what makes us so different.

Floor grinding and floor leveling are one of our top specialties.  We have perfected the process of floor grinding, and because we are also highly skilled in the installation of all types of flooring, we understand how critical concrete surface preparation is.  A flat and level floor is essential for a quality installation.  If you are picky about surface preparation, you owe it to yourself to discover just how picky we are too!

We have a very uniqe way of floor grinding and have invested in a second grinder.  This is because the diamonds on the wheel quickly heat up when floor grinding.  After 15 minutes, we simply unplug the first grinder, plug the second one in, and continue floor grinding with a fresh, cool grinding wheel.  By alternating grinders so the diamond surface never gets overheated, we can grind much more efficiently, which costs you less money in the end.  Currently, we aren't aware of our competitors choosing this method.  They have one machine, and once the grinding wheel overheats, it will barely cut the concrete, meaning that it will take much longer to complete your job.  Since you are paying by the hour, you end up paying more.

In addtion to our two 10" Edco 230 volt, five horsepower grinders, we use three CDC Larue PB-1250 industrial vacuums, two CDC Larue Hum-b edge grinders, and six standard 7" grinders.  With the required accessories, our investment in grinding equipment is about $40,000.00.  Most installers or floor grinding companies may only have a total investment of about $400.00 in one 7" standard floor grinder; usually without any dust control equipment.

We are often called to repair and flatten concrete floors that are in such bad condition and so irregular that no one wants to be responsible for installing flooring over them.  Whether you are a homeowner or a contractor who needs a company highly skilled in floor grinding and floor leveling, please contact us.
