Dust Free Travertine Tile Removal Service in Phoenix, AZ
At Arizona Home Floors, we pioneered the entire flooring removal industry by offering dust free removal of travertine and other types of tile since 2010.
Here is a video showing what to expect on a typical project, you can see we usually have five people on our crew removing the travertine as a group:
Removing travertine tile is no joke, it’s not like ceramic or porcelain tiles where they can come up in big pieces sometimes. Travertine, being a natural stone, comes up in very small pieces and vacuums need to be used every step of the way including:
- When the travertine is being removed
- When the tile is being picked up off the floor
- When the floors are swept of small pieces of tile
- When the grinders remove the thinset (mortar, glue, grout)
As you can see in the photo on the right, the vacuum system we use is a custom-made PulseRam vacuum system made by DustRam.
A single vacuum system costs around $13,000, and Arizona Home Floors brings out eight vacuum systems totaling $104,000, but also note how the vacuums are made;
A PulseRam vacuum is the only self-cleaning vacuum in the world that was designed specifically for the difficult job of flooring removal.
Most vacuums are designed for simple tasks, but not this vacuum. This is not a shop vacuum, it does not use a cheap plastic-type bagging system to hold dust, but rather a tall metal tank.
Having such a large amount of self-cleaning vacuums on a job site ensures the crew can work all day without having to stop and empty one out. We typically keep these vacuums outside of the home, which is why they are not seen on the video of us removing travertine which you saw at the top.
Here is one last video that should convince you why using the DustRam Process is the way to go. We show off another tool called the dust commander, see what happens when the same vacuum, same chipping hammer, and same crew are used, but a different attachment is applied:
